About Mt. Kilimanjaro
The majestic Mount Kilimanjaro rises up from the rainforest of north-eastern Tanzania to its pristine, snow-topped summit at 5,895 meters. Embark a truly unforgettable experience with the Kilimanjaro Expedition. We will be trekking through the forest, walking above the clouds, traversing through the moorland zone, and passing through the ice fields and the glaciated steep vertical cliffs of Kibo’s south face. On the approach, you get the magnificent views of the ice fields and the Kilimanjaro summit. You can descend via the Mweka route a steep yet beautiful trail that takes you through dry mountain desert and lowland forest. You get to see the different sides of the mountain through this and get to experience more on this expedition. Each day has a different scenery and views to offer, starting from the magnificent rain forests, high alpine deserts, ice fields to the vast glaciers and the views into the horizon from the top.
Lemosho Route is the longest of the standard routes and is without doubt the most beautiful. The Lemosho route is one of the newer routes on the mountain, and a superb choice for your climb. It is our preferred route due to its ideal balance of low traffic, beautiful scenery and a high summit success rate. The route approaches Mount Kilimanjaro from the west, beginning with a long drive from Moshi to Londorossi Gate. From there, the first two days are spent trekking through the rainforest to Shira Ridge. Unlike the popular Machame route, which simply intersects the Shira Plateau, the Lemosho route crosses the entirety of the plain from west to east in a pleasant, relatively flat hike. An added bonus is that climbers will encounter low traffic until the route joins the Machame route. Afterwards, Lemosho follows the same route through Lava Tower, Barranco and Barafu, known as the southern circuit. Descent is made via the Mweka route.Lemosho is considered the most scenic route on Kilimanjaro, and grants panoramic vistas on various sides of the mountain. Thus, Lemosho is highly recommende
